Aura battle music: the phonk tracks, the boat kid song and the right BPM
What plays at aura battles and in aura farming edits: Ogryzek's "AURA", Skrilla's "Doot Doot (6 7)", Melly Mike's "Young Black & Rich", Brazilian phonk, and why 130–150 BPM is the sweet spot.
Aura has a sound, and it's phonk: distorted 808s, a cowbell riff, a half-time snare under fast hats, everything slightly too loud. Here's what actually plays.
The tracks
- "AURA" by Ogryzek. A phonk track by a Polish producer that AP and Spanish outlets name as the aura battle song. The slowed remixes are just as common.
- "Doot Doot (6 7)" by Skrilla. Not phonk, but the source of the 6-7 chant. Played for the gesture. What 6-7 means.
- "Young Black & Rich" by Melly Mike. The boat kid song. It's a laid-back trap track, around 70 BPM half-time, which is why it works as a walk-on rather than a battle beat. The boat kid.
- "Slava Funk!" by Mvsterious. Brazilian funk-phonk, a plaza staple.
- Anything from the "AURA BATTLE PHONK Farming Edition" style playlists on Spotify and SoundCloud, and the TikTok sounds tagged "música para farmear aura".
Why phonk
The "sigma edit" genre that spread the word aura in 2022–2024 was built on slowed phonk: dark, high-contrast, slow-motion footage over drift or Brazilian phonk. When battles moved to the street, the music came with them. Spanish coverage describes the sound as "funk o phonk a alto volumen" and "música estilo videojuego".
The BPM
Measured Brazilian phonk and "montagem" tracks cluster around 129–133 BPM, and producer guides put the sweet spot at 135–150. Drift phonk runs faster, 140–160. Anything at 128 four-on-the-floor without the distorted 808 and cowbell reads as EDM, not phonk; the texture matters more than the number.
For a battle you want two speeds: a fast phonk loop while moves are being performed, and something slow and sparse for the walk-in and the winner reveal.
In the game
Aura Battles ships a phonk soundtrack of 13 free-to-use tracks (Creative Commons and similar licences), all credited on the in-game music page, running from about 120 BPM up to drift-phonk speed — the same window the plaza playlists live in. A track is a match: it starts when the fighters walk on and it's still going when someone takes the table.
The music isn't the scoring system — nothing you do has to land on the beat. It's the mood you feel: the arena pulses with the track while the ante lands, the clock counts down and the moves land. Try a round.
