The aura farming boat kid: who is Rayyan Arkan Dikha?
The story of the 11-year-old Indonesian boy dancing on a Pacu Jalur racing boat who became the face of aura farming, who copied him, and how his dance became a battle move.
The most famous aura farmer in the world is an 11-year-old from a village in Riau, Indonesia, standing on the front of a boat.
Who he is
Rayyan Arkan Dikha is from Pintu Lobang Kari in Kuantan Singingi, Riau. In the traditional Pacu Jalur boat races held there, each long boat carries a tukang tari or togak luan: a dancer who stands on the bow and hypes up the forty or so rowers behind him. Rayyan was that dancer. Wearing a black Teluk Belanga outfit, a Malay headcloth and sunglasses, he performed a swaying, arm-rolling routine he told BBC Indonesia he "came up with myself, it was just spontaneous."
The performance was filmed in August 2024 and posted to TikTok in January 2025. Nothing happened for months. Then in June and July 2025 it was remixed to Melly Mike's "Young Black & Rich", tagged "aura farming kid on boat", and became one of the biggest memes of the year. Fans nicknamed him "The Reaper" because, in their words, he never loses.
Why it read as aura
Everyone behind him is thrashing at full effort. He is completely calm, blowing kisses to the left and right, rolling his fists like a wheel, one arm forward and one back, face like stone. Total composure in the middle of chaos is the purest form of aura farming there is. He wasn't trying to be cool. He was doing his job.
Who copied him
- Travis Kelce, in a clip that passed 14 million views.
- Paris Saint-Germain's squad.
- Formula 1 driver Alex Albon and MotoGP champion Marc Márquez, who did it on his bike after winning the German GP.
- Footballers Diego Luna and Chloe Kelly (at England's Euro 2025 parade).
- KSI, Steve Aoki on stage in Portugal, BTS's V and Jung Kook.
- The Singapore Navy.
Indonesia responded properly: Rayyan was named a Riau cultural and tourism ambassador, met the culture and tourism ministers in Jakarta, received a government scholarship, and on 17 August 2025 performed before President Prabowo at the Independence Day ceremony. Pacu Jalur appeared in Google's 2025 Year in Search video, and Fortnite sold the dance as an emote that November.
The boat kid as a battle move
In aura battles, "el niño del bote" is a standard move: sunglasses on, stone face, the arm sweep. In the Aura Battles game your 3D fighter performs a move every time they play one, and the cold, unbothered energy of the boat kid is the whole mood of the thing: lead with something big, keep the stone face, let the other side decide whether to answer. Build a fighter and try it.
The song behind the clip is in aura battle music, and the rest of the canon is in every aura farming move.
